News from Topeka as Representative Jim Kelly explains a new bill has been passed to form a task force to target road work. Road work always gets pushed back due to funding, and with new bill Montgomery County may get some funding on some targeted projects.  Projects here in the county include the 169 interchange near Independence and highway 75 entering Caney. The Highway 169 interchange is repeatedly noted for the large amounts of accidents that take place and the Caney entrance is being proposed to turn into a four lane road. Not only will the projects make our roads a much safer place, but the work also promotes a larger flow of traffic giving the potential for larger populations and businesses.
