The Library Director for the City of Caney is relieved of her duties. The library board taking that action this week. City Administrator Fred Gress says Chris Bannon had been on administrative leave during an audit of library finances.   The irregularities found – according to the audit report – included late payment of payroll taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, misuse of the library's credit card, and violation of the state's budget law may having expenditures in excess of general fund revenues.

Library Assistant Jennifer Rosson will be  overseeing library operations in the interim.
