The race for the republican nomination for governor in the state of Kansas was a close one, but that wasn't the only close race for the state. District 11 Representative Jim Kelly says there were several in the House.  Kelly says that the crowded field for the republican nomination for governor played a large part into why that race was so close.

“My vote doesn't count” a popular excuse as to why someone doesn't vote.  Kelly says when elections are this close that simply isn't the case.  Kelly says if you look at the percentage of the vote for Colyer and Kobach it's a tie, both receiving 41%. When you win that close he says you don't get that mandate that you were swept in based on their message.
