Kansas AG on Food Assistance Programs

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly dropped a policy, that was started back in May, that allowed several thousand Kansas adults to receive food assistance after failing to meet work requirements. Attornery General Derek Schmidt, who fought Governor Kelly on this policy, says this is an example of enforcing the law the way its written.

Schmidt says they adopted a firm line that says if you aren't working then you aren't getting anymore then the three months, however he says you if are working you continue to get the benefits.
