Peaceful Protest in Coffeyville in Support of BLM

Around 200 people chant “Black Lives Matter” as they gathered in peaceful protest in support of the BLM movement in the Nellis Hall parking lot in Coffeyville. Justin Cartwright, a teacher at FKHS, says this was put on by the youth of Coffeyville and he came to support them.

Cartwright says there were some people worried about the protest but he says they stayed peaceful. At one point the group gathered in a circle with fists in the air and remained silent for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, which is the amount of time the officer's knee was on George Floyd's neck.
