The last week there has been a microscope on police officers and their conduct. Independence Police Chief Jerry Harrison, during First Friday, shared his thoughts on what happened in Minneapolis last week.

Harrison says when he first arrived in Independence he noticed a special and unique bond between the police force and the people of the city.  Harrison says they have several things in place to help keep the positive relationship they have with the community including the Police Chief's Advisory Committee.
