Two Arrested After Police Chase in Pittsburg

Two Pittsburg residents were arrested earlier this week on an array of charges.

A Pittsburg Police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a spray-painted Ford Fusion passenger vehicle in northeast Pittsburg for an observed moving violation. The vehicle failed to yield and then began to flee from the officer. After a short chase that saw the vehicle end up crashing into a fence post, both the driver and passenger fled the vehicle on foot and were apprehended a short time later. The vehicle was reported stolen out of rural Crawford County on April 11th.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 29-year-old John D. Robertson Jr. and the passenger was identified as 22-year-old Kaitlyn M. McMurry. Both were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and various warrants out of different counties. Robertson also picked up fleeing and eluding and interference with law enforcement charges. Both were transported to the Crawford County Jail.
