After an extended period of research and planning, the City of Independence has revamped its sanitation service. Beginning Monday, September 27, there will be new methods and a new schedule for trash pickup.
Every residential sanitation customer will receive a 95-gallon poly cart trash dumpster. The cart will be delivered to homes a few days prior to the new service launch. Each cart will be marked with the City of Independence logo and a serial number that is specific to the customer's address.
Trash collection frequency will be changing to once a week, rather than twice, as is currently the schedule in most residential neighborhoods. A map with the new pick-up schedule can be found here.
