Results from the 6th round at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas are in and several Oklahomans’ are doing quite well.
In a very close contest, Pawhuska’s champion barrel racer Wenda Johnson finished the 6th round just out of the money by 6 one-hundredths of a second. She placed 7th with a time of 13.76. First place was a tie with a time of 13.57, so only 2 tenths of a second separated 1st place and 8th. Rookie racer Leslie Smalygo from Skiatook came in 10th yesterday with a time of 18.54.

Pawhuska’s native cowboy, Tyler Milligan placed 12th in the 6th round of the Tie Down Roping Event with a time of 13.8 seconds. Milligan is 10 in the average and is sitting in 12th place in the World Standings with total earnings so far of $135,707.
Local Rodeo Cowboy JL Tunison says to look out for Tanner Brenner from Ramona. Brenner placed 3 last night in a tie with Nick Guy who both recorded times of 3.9 seconds in the steer wrestling. Both earning $14,690. Brenner is in 7th place in the average going into the 7th round tonight. He moved up to 12th in the World Standings with $120,961 earned.
The NFR will continue tonight with the 7th of 10 rounds culminating this weekend.
