The time around the 4^th of July can be a stressful time for pets.

Coffeyville Friends of Animals Becky Barnhart says the best thing a pet owner can do is to keep their dog or cat inside.  Barnhart says for the pets that are inside create a safe space for them.

Barnhart says it is also recommend to take the dog for a walk earlier in the evening before the fireworks have started.
