A former Ramona police officer is charged with felony sexual battery after being accused of sexual assault while on duty.
According to an arrest affidavit, 67-year-old Gerald Garrison took the victim on a police ride-along Friday evening, then touched them inappropriately. The victim says a sexual act happened inside Ramona City Hall. Police Chief Daniel Blevins says Garrison was removed from duty when the department learned of the allegation Friday night. He was fired and arrested Saturday.
During an interview, Garrison initially denied the alleged sexual acts before saying they kind of made out. His bond was set at $25,000, with a condition that he have no contact with the victim. His next court date is October 16th.
