Authorities in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, are investigating after a body is discovered in a river near Quapaw.

Police say the body was discovered on Saturday morning in the Spring River near Bicentennial Park about 4 miles east of Quapaw. The deceased male was turned over to the medical examiner's office as authorities try to determine the man's identity and cause of death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
