The Nowata County Commissioners will hold a regular meeting tomorrow morning, due to the Columbus Day holiday today.

 

The commissioners will discuss an estimate of needs for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and review a financial statement from the past fiscal year. They will also possibly take action on two resolutions for financial assistance through the Rural Economic Action Plan or REAP fund. One is through District Two of the county and the other is with the Sheriff's Office.

 

The board will also review requests for bids to be let for hot mix, hot lay and cold patch, as well as the loading and hauling of miscellaneous road materials and the printing of ballots.

 

In other business, the board will accept a donation and possibly act on a resolution for a safety award. They will also discuss improvements to the courthouse, the county certification map and county action report and hear an update from Emergency Manager Laurie Summers.

 

Tomorrow's meeting begins at 9am at the Nowata County Annex Meeting Room, at 228 North Maple Street in downtown Nowata.
