The Coffeyville Red Ravens and head coach Nick Dobler dropped to 0-5 at home after a 38-0 defeat to the top-ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons on Saturday, falling to 2-6 on the year.

The Blue Dragons got the scoring started with a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown in the first 15 seconds of the game. Hutchinson extended its lead to 21 with a 38-yard touchdown pass and a quarterback keeper, taking a three-score advantage into the second quarter.

The Red Ravens couldn’t find much traction offensively, as the Blue Dragons added two more scores before halftime to make it 35-0.

Coffeyville’s defense forced two turnovers on downs and recorded an interception in the final two quarters to keep Hutchinson out of the end zone, as the teams combined for just three points after halftime.

The Red Ravens will have a bye week before returning to action on the road against Highland on October 31.
