Dale Eugene Tackkett

Dale Eugene Tackkett, Woodstown, NJ, age 87, died at Elmer Hospital, Elmer, NJ on April 8, 2021. 

 

Dale was born January 18, 1934 in Bronson, Kansas and moved to Coffeyville as a child.  He graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1951 and went into the army in October, 1956. 

 

Dale married Martha Tosh on June 27, 1956, and they had four children. They later divorced. He worked at Magic Circle, Coffeyville, Kansas as a machinist for 32 years.

 

On May 19,1990, Dale married Antoinette Gillis at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Coffeyville, Kansas. In October 2015, Dale and his wife moved to New Jersey.

 

Dale was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Woodstown, NJ, Masonic Lodge #102, Coffeyville, KS; The Independence Gun Club, Independence, KS; Tsa La Gi a Gi Go Lv Black Powder Shooting Club, Oklahoma. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His hobbies were making hunting knives and black powder rifles. He was a man of many talents and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Antoinette and his children: Pamela Tackkett, Genia Leroy (Craig), John Tackkett (Sonya), and Sonya Tackkett (Larry Shufelt), Heather Gillis (Tom Graves), Paul Gillis (Helen), Erica Milas, (Jerry), Spencer Gillis (Bridget), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

The funeral service will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 613 Elm St, Coffeyville at 2:30pm Wednesday April 14, 2021. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.

 

The viewing will be at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline, Coffeyville from 1-8pm Tuesday April 13, 2021. The family will be present to greet friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 613 Elm St. Coffeyville, KS 67337, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 37 East Grant, Woodstown, NJ 08098, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org. Contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
