Roy K Nace, 83 years old, of Coffeyville, Kansas went home to see his Lord on December 2, 2022. He was born to Gladys and Clarence Nace on September 13, 1939, in Wellington, Colorado.
He graduated from Wellington High School in 1957 where he was an integral member of the football and basketball teams. On September 13, 1959, he married his High School sweetheart Wanda Jo Steffen. They made their home in the Northern Colorado area. After retirement, Roy and Wanda moved to Coffeyville KS. Roy and Wanda were blessed with 3 children, Ronda, Rocky and Debra. Roy was employed with Public Service and Hewlett Packard in Loveland, CO. He later went on to be self- employed in construction. One of his biggest accomplishments was to re- model a cabin in Red Feather Lakes and then to build his own home in Crystal Lakes, CO. Roy loved to go dancing with his wife Wanda where they would always be the last ones off the dance floor. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of many bowling teams while living in Loveland. Roy loved playing cards and did whatever it took to win. His greatest enjoyment was watching all of his grandchildren playing on their sports teams no matter what their ages were or the sport they were playing.
Survivors include his wife Wanda, his two daughters, Ronda Whitmer and husband Scott of Lucedale MS; Debbie Eastman and husband Brit of Coffeyville KS; two brothers Alfred Nace of Liberty MO and Charles Nace of Portland OR; 5 grandchildren; Jason Zwiebel of Mesa AZ, Cammille Wilson and husband Hugh of Lucedale MS, Zachary Mitchell and wife Kristen of Fort Smith AR, Curtis Whitmer of Lucedale MS, and Joshua Mitchell and wife Hope of Coffeyville KS, and 2 great grandchildren Lillian and Sadie. Roy was preceded in death by his infant son Rocky Dean, his parents, one brother and one sister.
A service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday December 7 at 11:00am at Dearing Christian Church in Dearing, Kansas with Pastor Jamie Regis officiating. Family requests memorials be made payable to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and left in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.
