David Lee Egan Sr.

David Lee Egan Sr., 67, entered Heaven’s gates on January 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and laughter that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dave was born to Jerome and Julia Egan in Bartlesville, Ok on February 2, 1958. The family made their way to reside in Caney, Ks where Dave was a proud graduate of CVHS class of ‘77. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Mary Ann Egan for 47 years. He is survived by his son David Egan and wife Brandee of Caney; his daughter Julie McDermed and husband Justin of Brownwood, Texas; and his treasured grandchildren Rowan McDermed, Brynlee McDermed, Dayton Egan, and Beckett Egan, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret Peterson and Carol Johnston and husband Danny Johnston along with many adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Jerome “Chunky” Egan, James “Jimmy” Egan, Charlie Egan, and sisters Joyce Carinder, Patricia Holeman, and Helen Williams.

Dave enjoyed karate where he earned his fifth degree black belt. He worked as a precision machinist for many years, retiring in May of 2024. Retirement didn’t slow him down—it simply gave him more time to help others. He stayed busy lending a hand to friends and family whenever needed and spent countless hours volunteering with the Caney Fire Department, where he faithfully served as secretary/treasurer. David was always ready to serve the Lord, generously giving his time, abilities, and heart to others.

He was known for his sweet tooth and his talent for sneaking desserts—often with a playful grin and without apology. Dave was ornery, always smiling, and unfailingly kind. He loved his children deeply and was incredibly proud of his grandchildren, never missing a chance to brag about them.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tyro Christian Church where he was a longtime member.

A Celebration of Life will follow on Wednesday, January 28, at 10:00 a.m., also at Tyro Christian Church, with a brief graveside service to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Caney Fire Department; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.

David’s life was a beautiful example of service, love, and joy. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his goofy sense of humor, and the many lives he touched simply by showing up and caring. Judy Rae Roberts

Judy Rae Roberts, a lifelong resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 6,2025 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the Bartlesville Assisting Living where she had been residing for the last few months. At the time of her death, Judy was 87 years of age.

Judy was born to Chester Levi and Arnita Cherokee (Knight) Toney in Coffeyville, Kansas on April 7, 1938. Judy was the second born of five children. She and her family resided in the rural area of Old Parker where she also attended grade school. When she and her siblings weren't in school, they helped on the family farm. Judy's daily chores included tending to the chickens: feeding, cleaning the nest, and gathering eggs. The Toney children enjoyed running and exploring their property and attending sporting events where their dad often umpired.

Judy's vivacious spirit shone through as she attended Roosevelt Junior High School. There she thrived as a cheerleader and served as president of the student council. It was here that Dee Lloyd Roberts first laid eyes on her, leading to a long and loving courtship.

Throughout her time at Field Kindley Memorial High School, Judy remained a spirited cheerleader, earned the title of Football Queen, and graduated in 1956. She cherished her high school years and continued to actively participate in class reunions, always embracing her outgoing nature and her love for people.

Judy and Dee Lloyd were married on November 4, 1956, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They shared sixty-nine years together before his passing on May 12, 2025. Together they had three children, Tonya, Tim, and Tod. Judy was a dedicated and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She walked alongside her husband and supported her children in all ways.

Judy actively attended the boys sporting events and her daughter's performances with the Drum Corps at Field Kindley High School.

Judy used her God-given personality to its fullest in her everyday life and in her working careers. Some may remember her best as the Tony's Pizza lady, serving samples at Nu-Way Foodliner, or maybe you remember her from Mr. Kolor Print on the corner of 8th and Hall as the lady who accepted your film and returned it as photos. She also worked at Classy Lady dress shop, Noah's Ark Christian Book Store and lastly at Jennifer's Merle Norman. Judy's retirement years were spent spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities as she was just as passionate about supporting them as their parents.

Judy was a faithful and dedicated Christ follower. She was a prayer warrior, who read and studied the Bible daily. She loved attending church and singing praise and worship songs with other believers. She used her people skills to encourage others and shared the Gospel without hesitance to everyone she met. For years she and her late friend Colleen Perkins attended the Kenneth Copeland Believer's Convention in Texas for a week, a trip she looked forward to all year long.

Judy will also be remembered as a superb cook and seamstress. For special occasions, family members requested her fried chicken, potato salad, and any of her famous pies, cakes, or scrumptious cookies. To put it simply there's nothing like Mom or Grandma's cooking to provide a lot of comfort and love. Judy was also an excellent seamstress. She made all of Tonya's clothes, prom dresses and even made outfits for Tonya's Barbies. Judy enjoyed volunteering her time tutoring Kindergarten students at Edgewood Elementary School with her good friend and classmate, Judy Leahman. Judy was also proud of her Delaware heritage and is proud to hand that legacy to her family.

Judy leaves behind her daughter Tonya (Bob) Kriebel, their children Chelsey (Ryan) Schlotfelt, Lacey Kriebel and Wade Kriebel, son Tim (Marci) their children Lindsey (Luke) Logan, Jordan (Austen) Malone and Lauren Roberts and son Tod (Margaret) their children Ben, Charlie, and Anna Roberts. Several Great grandchildren, Blake and Reed Schlotfelt, Colin, Clayton and Everly Logan and sister Joni Toney.

In addition, preceding her in death were Judy's parents, Chester and Arnita Toney and husband, Dee Lloyd Roberts. Judy is also at rest with her brothers Gary and Terry Toney and sister Marcia Echert.

Funeral services celebrating Judy's life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, 10AM at Westside Christian Church, 402 N Ohio St, Coffeyville, Kansas with Pastor Mike Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5 to 7pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Lori McCoach-Garton

A bright light has dimmed with the passing of the generous and witty Lori McCoach-Garton. Born on October 9, 1967, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Lori's contagious laughter and reliable nature made her a joy to be around, touching many lives throughout her 58 years.

Lori was a woman of many endearing qualities, but her generosity stood out the most. She gave not only in material ways, but also in kindness, understanding, and love. As a dedicated Front-End Manager in a retail grocery store for 35 years, her remarkable wit and reliability made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. She was always ready with a smile, a helpful hand, and a clever quip to lighten the day. However, it was at home where Lori's heart truly shone. Married since March 9, 1998, to her beloved husband, Scott Garton, Lori was a loving mother and an adoring grandmother. Her kids were her world, and she cherished every moment with her grandbabies. As the poet Maya Angelou once said, "I sustain myself with the love of family."

Lori is survived by her husband, Scott, her children, Kenzie (Trey), Zane, Tyler and Jordan, her sisters, Kimberly (Brad) Volmer, Cindy (Bill) Shearhart, Teresa (Doug) Stanley, Bobbie Stroud, her brothers, Michael (Bev) McCoach, Dennis McCoach, and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and JoAnn McCoach, son, Tim Garton and her daughter, Courtney Garton.

As we remember Lori, let's celebrate her life and the joy she brought into ours.
