Annabelle Lee Perkins, 69, affectionately known as Ann, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at her home in rural Wann, Oklahoma.

She was born in Parsons, Kansas on December 3, 1956, to Leonard Joseph and Barbara Louise (Mosler) Stewart. Ann spent her early life in the Oswego, Kansas area prior to graduating from Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas in 1976.

On her 21st birthday, December 3, 1977, she married Roger Perkins and relocated to rural Wann, Oklahoma, where she happily resided for 49 years.

Ann was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse in the health care sector, specifically serving in various nursing homes until her retirement. Her deep care for others was a testament to her nurturing spirit. However, it was her love for her family that truly defined her. An accomplished seamstress, Annabelle found joy in creating through knitting, crocheting, and sewing, often gifting her handcrafted treasures to her loved ones. Her hobbies were a reflection of her generous heart, as she meticulously wove her love into each stitch.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger Perkins, her son Tracey (Renae) Perkins, and her daughter Crystal (Jerry) Perkins Lessley. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Ronni Perkins, Tucker Perkins, and Jerry Wayne Lessley III. She also leaves her sisters Sherry (David) Myers and Rogene Coleman. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Barbara Stewart.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, located at 306 North Cline Road in Coffeyville.

Robert Sam Wren Sr., age 79, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.  

Robert was born on May 29, 1947, in Winfield, Kansas to Bobby Joe and Bonnie (Uptegrove) Wren.  He attended local schools and earned his high school diploma.  

In 1972, he was united in marriage to Martha June Gregory.  Of their union four children were born, Shanya, Sambo, Marvin and Kelly.  The couple later divorced.  

Robert drove a semi-truck for Fink Transportation.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.  On October 15, 2017, he married Carolyn Cook in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.  The couple attended church at Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville.  She survives of the home.  

In addition to his wife, Carolyn Wren, he is survived by his children, Shanya Morgan of Bartlesville, OK, Sambo Wren of Bartlesville, OK, Marvin (Tonya) Wren of Independence, MO, Kelly (Sheila) Wren of Talala, OK; stepson, Lynn Mitchell of Independence, KS; thirteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; sister, Jeannie Montgomery along with numerous extended family members and friends.  

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Joe and Bonnie Lou Wren; sister, Victoria "Vicky" Andrews and husband, Tim, sister, Elizabeth Tattershall and best friend, Allen Bogart.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  The family will be present to greet friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Church of God.  Sister Albertis Bray will officiate.  Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

Jerry Eugene Withers, age 94, passed away in Coffeyville, Kansas, on July 27, 2026, just four days before his 95th birthday.

Jerry was born in Coffeyville on July 31, 1931, to Louis and Helen Katherine (Wilson) Withers. He grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1948. He also attended Coffeyville Community Junior College on the GI Bill, completing his associate degree and machinist certificate.

After Jerry returned home from the Korean War, jobs were scarce, so he reenlisted for two more years in the U.S. Marines and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. While there, he met and fell in love with Janice Thorley, and the two eloped in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 7, 1954, keeping their union a secret from her parents until he returned from an assignment. After his honorable discharge, they moved back to Coffeyville, making it their forever home, where they raised their children and faithfully attended Holy Name Church. Janice preceded him in death on April 15, 2007.

Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the IAM Union.

Jerry was a hard worker. He began working in the Wheat Harvest Belt at the age of 14, traveling throughout Kansas, then Oklahoma, and on to Colorado, hitchhiking back to Coffeyville just before school started. He continued to pick up odd jobs throughout school. That work ethic continued through his working days at Jensen’s, Armstrong Ice Cream, and Wheatley Valve, where he worked until its closure. Parmac was his last place of formal employment, where he remained until his retirement. While working full time, he also owned and operated Jerry’s Dairy.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed breaking and training horses and doing leatherwork, his specialty was making saddles and special gifts for his family, including purses, wallets, and guitar straps. He was an accomplished gardener with a small orchard and grape vineyard. He loved his family, and they cherish many fond memories of him dancing with their mother and playing Saturday evening card games that all the children learned to enjoy. They also remember that Dad could fix anything with baling wire.

After being a bachelor for eleven years, Jerry found love again, and in 2018 he married Leahnora “Leah” Stiffler. He sold the farm and moved to Burlington, Kansas, until he needed a little extra care and moved in with his daughter.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Leah Withers of the home; his son, Raymond Withers and wife Pam; three daughters, Helen Rigdon, Jessica Trotter and husband Randy, and Rosemary Sortore; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; infant daughter, Terri Lynn; two grandchildren Holly and Sally Withers; one great-grandchild Reid Banzet; and sister, Mary Ann Bally.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., with Father Drew Dellasega officiating. Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery, where Jerry will be laid to rest next to Janice. The family requests that those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Jerry’s honor make it payable to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Marlon E. Nolte, age 59, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, peacefully at home. 

Marlon was born on March 26, 1967, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Walter “Walt” and Alta “Mae” (Riley) Nolte.  Marlon attended local schools and graduated from Lenapah High School with the class of 1985.  He was a hardworking man with a strong work ethic.  He spent the majority of his career as a rigger for N & S Movers. 

Marlon believed life was meant to be lived to the fullest.  He knew the importance of letting loose, sharing a laugh, and making memories with the people he loved.  Whether it was gathering with family, spending time with friends, or enjoying life’s simple pleasures, he worked hard but played harder.  Above all else, his greatest joy was his family, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did. 

Surviving to honor his memory are his sons, Nathan Nolte and wife, Malia, Brandon Nolte and wife, Taylor, his grandchildren, Augustus, Maddie, Pecos and Mason; siblings, Millard Nolte and wife, Ali, Mark Nolte and wife, Mary, Clementine Henning and husband, Mike, Roxie Wyrick and Alta Nolte, along with many extended family members and friends.  Marlon was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Mae Nolte. 

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Gena Marie Schockey, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend, passed away at her home Tuesday morning July 21, 2026, at the age of 62 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, on August 7, 1963, to Alfred Eugene “Gene” and Mary (Miranda) Hobbs. Gena lived her entire life in the community she loved deeply, attending Whittier Elementary School, McKinley School, Roosevelt Middle School and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1981.

She married her loving husband, Kevin Schockey, on December 26, 1986, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Gena was a dedicated employee, working at Sunset Disposal before finding her calling at Boles Jewelry Store where she served until her retirement.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Holy Name Altar Society, strengthening her faith and community through her service. In her spare time, Gena enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy and pride. To Gena, family was everything, and she instilled this value in her loved ones.

Gena is survived by her husband, Kevin Schockey; her daughters and their husbands, Miranda and Justin Rexwinkle, and Kaley and Jake Hayden; her grandchildren, Bryer, Tayte, Hattie, Laynie, and Bowen; her mother and step-father, Mary and Gary VanderLinden; her siblings, Andy Hobbs, Debra Hobbs and Kelli and Sue Relph and her significant other, Phil Zimmerman; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Hobbs, and father-in-law, Murle Schockey.

Bruce M. Dodson, age 63 of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Bruce was born on June 15, 1963, to Richard Eugene and Willias Villena (Parks) Dodson in Independence, Kansas where he also grew up and graduated from Independence High School in 1981.

After high school Bruce enlisted in the US Army where he proudly served his country receiving an honorable discharge.  After returning home he began the electrical program at CCC Technical Campus where he completed his education receiving his electrical certificate. 

Bruce became a member of the IBEW Local 226 and began working in various places. He also started B&D Services working as an independent electrician on the side.  Bruce began working for the City of Coffeyville in the electrical department and continued to work there until his retirement after fifteen plus years of service.  In addition, his electoral career also owned and managed several rental properties and raised cattle.

Bruce was an adventure-seeking individual, he enjoyed sky diving, riding motorcycles, and all types of ATV . He loved music, especially rock-and-roll and played in several bands over the years as lead guitarist.  He was a hard worker and played as hard as he worked.

Friends and family will remember him as a kind and charitable person with a big heart.  He was always there willing to help in any way he could.

Bruce was deeply loved by his children, Kimberly and Kenny. They knew their dad was larger than life, and they will always cherish the memories of a man who embraced life fully and lived each day to its fullest.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his children Kimberly and her husband James Helkenberg and Kenny Dodson, girlfriend Cindy Bates, sister Christine Haynor, niece Jeanne, best friend Randy DePue, his best dog ever, Bella and his pet donkey Tony.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clayton Matthew Vineyard age 51 passed away on July 9, 2026, at his home in Coffeyville, Kansas with his family nearby.

Clayton was born to Douglas Eugene and Janice Colette (Troutman) Vineyard in Independence, Kansas. Clayton grew up in rural Elk City, Kansas and attended school in Longton where he also graduated from. After graduation he attended K-State University and completed his education at Coffeyville Vo Tech obtaining his electrical license.

Clayton had one son, Dalton, who he was very proud of and expressed he was his and his mother LeAnn (Cornett) DeVore’s great accomplishment together. Though that relationship dissolved, their love for their son together remained.

Clayton was a hard worker, and his colleges will remember him most by his years at John Deere and Coffeyville Resources.

He also played as hard as he worked enjoying all the outdoors had to offer, he was a master shade tree mechanic, a jack of all trades and a master of most. He enjoyed spending time with his son Dalton and his friends, going on float trips, ATV Riding, and having a good time around a campfire. Ever since Clayton was a young man he has been fascinated with anything that had a motor and enjoyed the rush of speed.

Clayton is survived by his son Dalton and fiancée' Kate Graham, sister Kimberly High and husband Dennis, brother Jared Vineyard and wife Jami, and his nieces and nephew that he thought pretty highly of Chanel Atkinson and husband Gradey, Kylie Graham and husband Corey, Katelyn Anderegg and husband Jacob, Tyler Vineyard and wife Meadow, Zachary Vineyard and wife Morgan and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his faithful German Shephard and best friend Bear.

Born January 21st, 1963 in Battle Mountain, NV, to David & Mary Ann Gardner, Sheri Lynn Gardner passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter Summer and granddaughter Courtney on July 11th, 2026; in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

Sheri has joined her father, David SR, in rest.  Sheri leaves behind her mother Mary Ann Gardner; her sister Lani Kirkness & her children; her brother David Gardner JR & his children; her former husband Jesse Anderson & their children: Summer Payne, Jessica Anderson-Worm, Amber Anderson, & Autumn Espinoza; as well as her grandchildren Skylar Hester, Courtney Carney, Alyssa Payne, Wyatt Whitmore, Kelsey Mathiesen, Mazer Maly, Jett Maly, Abbigail Mathiesen, & Jossalynn Espinoza. 

Sheri was a devout Christian, a loving mother, sister, wife, and daughter.  She had a love for cooking, gardening, the beach, and she especially enjoyed her time spent with her family living aboard Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California.

Jerry L. Winters, beloved son, husband and dad, and grandpa of Edna, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri.at the age of 64. He was born on May 24, 1962, to Jerry L. Winters Sr. and Cora (Fowler) Winters in Parsons, Kansas. Jerry spent his lifetime in the community of Edna where he attended grade school then on to Altamont for high school graduating from Labette County High School in 1980. He met and married Dee Best May 8, 1981, they just celebrated 45 years of marriage of that union one son Jeremy was born.

Jerry had a lengthy employment career starting in 1971 – 2023. He owned and operated several businesses: Southside Performance, Edna Highlights, and food truck Winners Grill. His fulltime employment was with Magic Circle, Parmac, Muller Construction, all of Coffeyville, Kansas; G&G Dozier in Caney, Kansas and Warten Caterpillar in Owasso, Oklahoma before retiring to his ultimate job of being Grandpa to of two grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Jerry demonstrated kindness, resilience, and a steadfast dedication to those around him and his Edna community that he loved and respected. His unwavering character made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a volunteer at Cross Timbers Food Bank; he was on the City Council for the City of Edna for several terms in addition to being Mayor for 12 years. Jerry was also a volunteer firefighter on the Edna Fire Department for over 30 years serving as chief for 10 years. In 1978 he took up drag racing and his favorite car was a front engine dragster named Injected Chaos. Then in 1979 Jerry took up stock car racing until 2022, winning many track championships.

Jerry's legacy is one of respect and dignity. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him but not more than his wife Dee of the home, son Jeremy Winters and daughter-in-law Katie, grandchildren Harper and Hudson Winters, mother, Cora Winters, brother Roger Winters, nephew Ryan Winters, his aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers-in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry L. Winters Sr..

Pamela Simpson, 69, of Caney, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born on January 15, 1957, in Ottawa, Kansas to John David "Bud" and Velma Etta (Wood) Lohmann.  Pamela grew up and attended school in Caney, graduating from Caney Valley High School in 1975.

On June 11, 1976 she married the love of her life Gary Simpson at Caney. Following their marriage, they made their home in Caney where they raised their family.

She spent her professional career as a machine operator devoting many years of service to Standard Motors and later the Cessna Aircraft Co. in Independence, Kansas before her retirement.

Pamela found joy and contentment in the simplicity of life. She spent her spare time sewing, reading, woodworking, and regularly meeting with her high school friends, known as the Wednesday Lunch Bunch. She was deeply involved with youth groups at her church, reflecting her dedication to her faith and community. What mattered most to Pamela, however, was her family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

Pamela is survived by her husband Gary; her children, Michael (Malinda) Simpson, Michelle (Justin) Hanna, and Monica (Josh) Murray; her siblings Diane (Jerry) Peyton, Debbie (Chris) Wittner, Carolyn Vannoster, Janie (Steve) Morgan, Juanita Pinales, and David (Maria) Lohmann; eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Velma Lohmann, and brothers-in-law Don Vannoster and Jerry Moody; and nephews Chad Robertson, and Robert Simpson.

Visitation with the family greeting friends will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church of Caney, 900 South Ridgeway Street, Caney, Kansas.

Shirley Mae Garrison, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on July 5, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 83 in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.

 

Shirley was born on December 20, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Phillip Jarrett Jr. and Alma Viola (Troutman) Williamson.  The family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas when Shirley and her sister Kay were little, the move provided employment opportunities.  Shirley’s parents divorced.  Her mom remarried and they had a loving stepdad, Francis Williamson. Shirley treasured summers in Texas that she spent with her Aunt Lula who was very influential in her life.

 

Shirley attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High School and continued her education at CCJC until she tragically lost her sister Kay and a 3-year-old niece in a car wreck. The tragedy was more than she could bear.

 

On December 3, 1961, Shirley married Charles Robert Garrison and made Coffeyville their home. On April 1, 1965, she and Charles purchased Burkhart Glass and Muffler from Marion Burkhart where they continued until 1999 when they sold the business to retire. Charles preceded her in death in May of 2003.  Shortly after her retirement, Shirley began substitute teaching in Copan until she found the perfect job at Jane Phillips in purchasing.  Shirley was so proud that she was able to work until the age of 75 and retired after 14 years of service and was lovingly known as the “Diaper Lady”.

 

Shirley and Charles were members of the Valeda United Methodist Church and in later years, they moved to Copan and attended Copan United Methodist Church. 

Shirley faced many hardships and knew that love was important and she did just that, she loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them.  Her grandchildren have fond memories of spending the summers in the pool with grandma.  She also greatly enjoyed shopping, traveling, her dogs, her annual trip to War Eagle craft fair, reading, and oh did we mention shopping, fishing particularly for catfish. 

 

On Sunday July 5th she was lovingly greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven along with her husband, Charles, her daughter Shelly Kay Beaston, her dad Phillip Jarrett Jr., her mom Viola and stepdad Francis Williamson, her sister Kay and Aunt Lula Campbell.

 

Her family that will cherish fond memories and carry on her legacy are her son Ron Garrison and wife Robin, Bill Garrison and wife Gayla, son-in-law, Mike Beaston, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Patricia "Patty" Jean Ward, 66, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on June 28, 2026. Patty was born to Tom and Margaret Miller, in Coffeyville on April 24, 1960. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Delores Miller after her parents divorce. Patty went to Coffeyville schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1977. She, like many others, went to the rodeo here in Coffeyville and that is where she met the love of her life, Fred Ward.

Patty and Fred were married in his home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma by John Lockaby March 26, 1978. They later moved to Coffeyville, and then Rural Jefferson and still reside there. Patty always wanted a church wedding and Fred made that dream come true for her. He surprised her for their 43rd wedding anniversary where they renewed their vows at their church, with Patty in a wedding dress and Fred in a tux.

Patty worked and later retired from Medicalodges where she did housekeeping. She was working at Sonic and had been for the last 11 years at the time of her passing.

Patty was a beautiful person inside and out. She was kind to everyone she came across and would give anyone the shirt off her back. She loved to share the gospel with anyone she could talk to or meet. She loved children - especially her children and grandchildren. She had physical handicaps but that didn't hold her captive. She truly had true joy and love for people. She always had a smile on her face and really loved her overstuffed animals.

Patty is survived by her husband Fred, her children Patricia R Ward, James Ward, and Christina (Lance) Tinsley, grandchildren Aleighya, Bretta, and Lillyan, and her sister Debbie Rex. She is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Tom and Delores, mother Margaret, and 12 siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 10 am, at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, KS. The family will receive friends Monday, July 6, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Patty will be laid to rest in Robbins Cemetery following services.
