Cara Rachel Haws age 44 passed away on March 29, 2026, Ascension St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Cara was born with great anticipation of her arrival on November 1, 1981, to Ronald “Ronnie” B. and Karen I. (Warren) Herriman in Coffeyville, Kansas. Cara was born with a heart defect but that didn’t slow her down, she was a happy bundle of joy.
Cara and her parents lived in South Coffeyville where she and her parents worshiped at Emmanuel Chapel and Cara attended school. She was a proud graduate of South Coffeyville High School. Cara then went on to Coffeyville Community College and completed her associate’s degree in photography.
Though she was only 4’ 11” on a good day that didn’t define her personality or love for people. She started her working career at Wal-Mart and then on to Guest Relations at the area hotels where she offered a welcoming smile and conversation to travelers. She also was a welcoming face at CRMC Medical Group. Her next adventure led her to Dollar General where once again she was such a delight to customers. Cara then began her career at The Prescription Shop working in Home Medical Equipment where she became proficient with medical insurance and helping customers with their medical supplies.
Cara enjoyed her “Girls Day Out” trips with her mom prior to her passing pampering themselves with manicures and beautifully painted nails. That tradition continued with friends after her mom passed. A fresh new haircut and color was another thing Cara always looked forward to. She also had a liking for beautiful jewelry and perfectly coordinated it with her clothes.
Cara met Kris Haws the man of her dreams online and on June 6, 2020, she married her knight in shining armor in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma at Emmanuel Chappel. The two bought a home in Coffeyville where Kris still resides.
Many adjustives can describe Cara, she was loving, caring, an encourager, funny, quick witted. She never met a stranger, loved people and enjoyed visiting with people. Shopping trips always took twice as long because she always took time to say hello. She was a good friend to many, a wonderful daughter to her parents, a loving wife, and a good daughter-in-law, she was as close as a daughter would be to her mother-in-law Marilyn.
Cara had a relationship with her Lord and Savior and wasn’t bashful about sharing the Gospel or inviting friends and family to the church she loved. She was extremely grateful for her brothers and sisters in Christ and loved them deeply.
Cara’s memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those who loved her dearly. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Kris Haws, whose love was her steady anchor through life’s journey. Cherished family members surround her memory: her mother-in-law, Marilyn Haws; her father-in-law, Loyal Haws, and his wife, Darlene. Her spirit is woven deeply into the fabric of her extended family—her aunts Cheryl Warren and Kim Pasquale, along with Kim’s husband Mike; her uncles Brent Kimball, Eddie Kimball, Vic Herriman, and Michael Ward; and her cousins Travis, Shondra, and Taylor. Beyond family ties, Cara was blessed with an extraordinary friendship—Seawanna Dickey, a bond so profound it was sisterhood for over three decades. Together, these souls hold the tender echoes of Cara’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering presence, celebrating a life that touched many with enduring grace.
Funeral services to celebrate Cara’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2pm at Emmanuel Chapel, 312 Broadway Ave, South Coffeyville, Oklahoma with committal services at the Veterans Patio in Fairview Cemetery. Cara will be laid to rest in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery near her parents. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas from 5-7pm.
